Fools' Day - an attentive day..!

The Day in which everyone will try to fool others has come. Yes, April 1st.

  •       April fool’s day, also called as All Fools’ Day , is one of the most light hearted days of the year.

  •      It is the day celebrated by playing practical jokes and prank games on others.

  • Its origin is uncertain though.

  • Some believe it as a celebration to the turn of new seasons while for others, it is celebrated because of the new calendar year as the ancient people celebrated New Year Day on April 1.

  • In 1582, Pope Gregory XIII ordered a new calendar (the Gregorian calendar) to replace the old Julian calendar.

  • Hence the new year celebrations were on Jan 1 instead of April 1. But some people still celebrated April 1 as the New Year Day.

  • So to mock those people, others started making fun of them, sending them foolish errands and pranking them. These practices continued resulting in the April Fools’ Day.

  • Another explanation was, when a group of fools told the Roman emperor that they could run the empire better than him. So, the emperor was amused and allowed a fool named Kegel to be the king for one day (on April 1). But Kegal made mockery of the emperor and it became as an annual festival.

  • In Italy, France and Belgium, adults and children traditionally pin paper fishes on other’s back and shout “April Fish!!”

  • These incidents may have been the origin of the April Fools’ day.

  • Whatever, this day is undoubtedly celebrated worldwide today and people really have been precautiously attentive for not to be fooled by anyone.

  • So, Guys watch out for every words today else you might be trapped too. Hope many have been trapped already...........;-) Myself already been trapped in advance.

  • And, Today is the b’day of Vijay.

  • Yes believe me, no fooling my readers. It is the b’day of the cricketer Murali Vijay not the Vijay you might have thought initially.

  • Happy April Fools’ Day. Have loads of fun buddies…………:):):)
